Goelo Enabler Hoists the French Flag: A New Milestone for Local Integrationand French Maritime Employment

Edda Wind is proud to announce the official reflagging of the Goelo Enabler from the Norwegian registry to the French flag, marking a historic step for the offshore wind industry in France. The vessel now becomes the first service vessel sailing under the French flag to operate on a French offshore wind farm, specifically the Saint-Brieuc wind farm, located about 16km off the coast of Brittany, France.

A strong commitment to French employment and French seafarers.

The Goelo Enabler now sails with French Officers and cadets on board, reflecting Edda Wind’s dedication to supporting national maritime employment. This milestone highlights our commitment to promoting French expertise within the rapidly growing offshore wind sector.

A SOV fully integrated into the local landscape

As a Service Operation Vessel (SOV), the Goelo Enabler plays a crucial role in supporting daily maintenance operations at the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, contributing to both renewable energy production and the economic development of the region.

With its new flag, the vessel further strengthens its local integration:

Saint-Malo is now its home port, deepening the ties between Edda Wind and Brittany. This decision reflects the company’s long-term ambition to anchor itself within the local maritime and industrial ecosystem.
